Canada Creek Coaster - Opening 2009

Canada Creek Caster PlansDue to open in 2009 the Canada Creek Coaster will become Thorpe Park's 6th roller-coaster. So far we know it will be half located on land by Loggers Leap behind Samurai and half on a reclaimed land in Abbey Lake. The ride will be made Gerstlauer and is there Euro Fighter style coaster featuring a more than vertical drop. There are currently two other Gerstlauer Euro Fighter's in the country which are Speed at Oakwood Theme Park in wales, which opened in 2006 and Rage at Adventure Island in Essex which opened in 2007.

Stealth

StealthThroughout the whole history of roller coasters there have been two simple things to do when designing a ride that will ensure its a success. Make it big and make it fast, and this entirely the design idea behind Stealth! Standing at 62.5m tall it is the second tallest coaster in the country and reaching speeds of 80mph it certainly is the fastest. Not only that but it accelerates from 0 - 80mph in under 2 seconds.

Colossus

ColossusColossus was the first of the big coasters to be built at Thorpe Park as it transitioned from being a family oriented park to a destination for thrill seekers, so rightly so it was a record breaking coaster as it took the title of coaster with the most inversions, 10 to be precise. One thing though that's really great about Colossus, is while other rides that had been coming out featured different train positions, or unique track elements such as vertical drops, Colossus reminded us that you can just take the slandered looping coaster and give it an awesome layout to make something truly excellent.

Nemesis Inferno

Nemesis InfernoRight after Colossus opened construction for Nemesis Inferno began for it to open the very next year. Unlike Colossus, Nemesis Inferno has its train positioned under the track so riders legs can dangle and resulting in a completely different ride experience. Nemesis Inferno also incorporates other track elements such as helix's combined with excellent themeing rather than just consisting of a lot of inversions as Colossus does.

Flying Fish

Flying FishDon't be fooled by the size of this ride, it may be small and it may have originally been meant for children but that doesn't not mean it is tame and boring. It's tight twisted layout combined with the decent speeds it can get up to mean you will be constantly pushed into the edge of the seat and have a really fun ride.

X:\ No Way Out

X:\No Way OutThis was the last of the coasters to be built before Tussaud's took over the park in 1998 and sadly it didn't go quite to plan. On paper it was to be the worlds only in the dark backwards coaster, combined with scenes along the way to tie in with the theme of the ride and everything would be brilliant. But it wasn't! If this ride was produced in a Disney park then maybe it would have been, as the scenes and themeing would be amazing and the track itself would have been twice the size. But this wasn't built by Disney, at the time Thorpe Park was owned by Ready Mix Concrete and they were on a budget. So what we have is a ride that's to small to get up a decent speed but still stops for the 3 scenes that consist of some noise and air being blown on you, it is the world only backwards coaster but it certainly isn't fun.
