Tidal Wave was the first high class ride to hit Thorpe Park and what a ride it is. Although its idea is simple enough, sit in a boat, go up the hill, turn a corner, go back down and make a big splash. It makes such a big splash when it hits the water the ride experience is as amazing and there's no doubt to why Thorpe Park decided to call it Tidal Wave. Be warned unless you have a poncho you will get soaked, however there is now a drying machine to stand in (at a charge).
Tidal Wave has also been designed to entertain guests without even needing to go on the ride. Located at the end of the drop in front of the ride is what's been called the splash zone. As you can probably guess this is where a lot of the huge splash thats created ends up landing and its free for any guest to go and stand there.
