Detonator is a tower drop ride, taking you up 100ft and then dropping you back to earth making your body experience G-Force of 5.5 on the way. Other tower rides like Ice Blast at Blackpool shoot you up the tower and then let you fall back down and bounce. Other tower rides like Ice Blast are also twice the height but for some reason Detonator seems to be far more intense. I guess what it really comes down to it the fact that you are higher than anything in the park and you know your going to be dropping back down to it any second! Not only that but you cant see where your going to land. I find something very comforting about seeing track on a roller coaster no-matter what the height if I see track I'm fine because I know where I'm going (This would be why Oblivion scare the hell out of me still).
