Quantum is a Magic Carpet type ride consisting of four pillars each connecting to a rotating arm which is connected to the Vehicle. The arms can rotate in both directions taking riders backwards and forwards to the top and bottom of the ride, giving the sensation of airtime each time it goes over.
I was never a fan of the Magic Carpet at Chessington World of Adventures in the days before The Samurai was installed there but I gave Quantum a go and wasn't disappointed (maybe its because I'm now 2 foot taller and don't fly out the seat so much). Quantum is defiantly not for people who don't like thrill rides, the ride is fast and it will make you puke if you just had lunch. But its also a great sensation to be thrown out your seat towards the sky as the ride swings up and down attempting to leave you behind.
