These are the original plans for Stealth that were submitted for planning approval. They show how the ride would be based around a race theme with the queue line being placed on a grandstand beside the station.
Shortly after the original planning application was submitted it was updated with these newer plans. The main difference is with the themeing (the ride itself stayed the same), notably the grandstand queue line is removed, station building is a new shape and there is now the addition of the tire entrance to the ride.
In preparation of construction for Stealth starting, all the model from Model World have been removed and a fence now surrounds the site.
Apart from the removal of The Flying Fish, no real construction has yet started. The fence surrounding the site has had a sign put up to advertise the ride and confirms that the ride will do 0-80mph in 4 seconds and launch to 200 feet in 8 seconds.
Diggers are now on site and the work to clear the site and prepare the land is now underway. Not only will the land have to be flattened but also extended into the lake in order to accommodate the length of the ride.
Ground preparation is now well under way and a mixer and deep hole drill have arrived to start placing footers to support the coaster.
Many preformed footers are now on site and many more have already been put into place. The whole side for the launch (right) is looking near to completion (foundations wise) and it can be seen in the photo's where the land has been extended.
A great many more preformed footers have arrived to complete the foundation word around Stealth's top hat element and the air time hill.
It is now looking like Stealth's footers for the track may be complete. Foundation work is continuing around the station area and steel work has begun on the winch building that will launch the coaster. More land infilling can also be seen.
Steel work on the station building has now started and the winch building is taking shape with the addition of concrete walls. A new advert outside Thorpe Park has appeared advertising the new ride, it repeats the statistics of the previous advert but also highly demonstrates how tall the ride is by comparing it to other rides in the park, stating the height of each.
More work has been completed on Stealth's control box and the winch building has grown a little.
Track is now on site and is being put up at an amazing rate with the air time hill looking almost complete! Work is also continuing on the station which also now has a piece of track running through it.
The track connection the station and the air time hill is now complete and working backward around the ride the track is starting its curve to go up the top hat.
The supports for the sections of track which take the ride vertical and back again are now in place with the track for the bottom half of the decent almost in place. The station is looking more complete and brake fins have been added to the end of the air time hill. A second advert for the ride has also been put up in the park next to Nemesis inferno which is the same as the one outside the park.
The launch section of track and start of the assent is now in place. Good weather has meant construction of the ride is moving at a rapid pace.
The top hat is no well over half way complete with the final support in place and the track reaching half way on one side and even further on the other. It can now be clearly seen how the top half of Stealth will be painted white to blend in with the sky while the bottom half is blue.
The final part of the top hat is being be seen being put in place. This means the track is now complete with the only functional work remaining being the electronics.
The track of Stealth can now be seen to be complete. It has been put up in under a month.
The storage building for the trains has been part built and even more excitingly Stealth's trains have arrived. They are red and look like the one of Rita at Alton Towers.
As Thorpe Park's season ends and the park closes its gates to visitors, work on Stealth's electrics are continuing. The next time we'll be able to get a view of Stealth again will be in the new year and the ride will be finished and ready to ride by the general public.
